Following a meeting of the Management Committee it was agreed to stage a sponsored walk. The walk took place on the 18th September 2004.; all five partners participated in the event and the agreed route was lined with stewards to oversee the safety and welfare of the people taking part. The event started from the Pavilion site and ended back at the Pavilion site where refreshments were provided for the walkers along with an organised Balloon race. The winner of the Balloon race received £25, with £5 going to the person returning the balloon tag. The event was a huge success and raised approximately £5,000 for the Pavilion.

An event was also organised for the lighting of the Vicarage Christmas lights. This event took place on the 1st December 2004. The Brownies sang carols and refreshments were provided. Again the event was a big success and raised £268.32 for the Pavilion. The Bavarian Night was staged at the Monaco Ballroom in Hindley on the 21st January 2005. This event was once again a huge success. Many thanks go out to the local community for their help and support.

This is obviously only the start of the fund-raising activities being organized by the Pavilion Management Committee.

Through funding already secured, the Play trail has now been established and the Play Area is scheduled to be in place by March 2005.

Meetings are taking place on a regular basis with various funding bodies to try to secure adequate funding for the establishment of the new building itself.

Although we are having some success with various funding bodies, sponsorship from local Businesses is paramount to the continued success of the Pavilion. We therefore appeal to all local Businesses to support this very worthy enterprise.
